March 2016

Come across this fast food at Raffles place and decide to eat for lunch.

I ordered the Spicy Ultimate Chicken Burger ($7.90) and ‘up-size’ my fries to “Loaded Fries” ($3.50)

The chicken patty is however over fried and it is not spicy :P. I don’t enjoy the burger. Maybe the beef burger will be better.

The fries portion is huge and the cheese is very “sticky” and i got to keep wipe my mouth while eating it. 😀

Make Your Own Personnel Camera Insert

I like my sling bag but i got hard time to find an camera bag insert that can fit into it.

So only choice i can think of is to make my own camera bag insert.

Material i use is Polyurethane Foam Sheet (5mm thick) and also Canvas cloth.

My insert i don’t want cover so it will be easier  for me to take things out from my bag when in need. I just want something in my bag to protect the lens and camera.

Step 1.  i cut the foam up to the size i want. I want a rectangle box so i will have 3 long (one for bottom) and 2 short by the side.

Step 2. i draw them on the canvas and then start sew them up like below. (don’t paste the foam yet. The foam is put on the canvas for illustration purpose)

Create 2 sets and let name one as “inner” and the other as “outer”.

Step 3. Take the “inner”, connect the both side up and form a hollow box then take another canvas cloth and sew them up like below.

Step 4. For the outer, just connect the side up and form the hollow box. So you shall have “2 boxes” like below.

Step 5. Now turn the “outer” inside out. (Do not need to do for the inner.)

Step 6. Put the outer inside inner and sew them up on the red line.

Step 7. Now paste the foam

Step 8. Turn the outer from inside outward so it cover the foam.

Step 9. Now, take another piece of canvas and hand sew an invisible stitch on the bottom.

That’s it. You have your insert. 😀

I create 2 box so in case i need to bring both lenses and camera out. i can have one for lens and the other for my camera.

I learn how to do the box from this youtube.

Took me an hour to get this shot with many fail shots in between but still i am not satisfied with the result. However, this is currently the best i can do now 😦

Paulaner Bräuhaus Singapore

It is a saturday night and i am craving for sausage and beer 😛

I decide to re-visit a microbrewery and restaurant that i have not visit for years, Paulaner Brauhaus.

Paulaner Brauhaus is singapore’s only German microbrewery and restaurant.  It serves fantastic ice cold beer and also sausages. It also serve other specialties food like pork knuckles etc but you will need at least 2 person to order that as the portion is huge.

Today i order the Nurnberger grilled sausages with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. I just love the sausages. It tasted just exactly like what i had eaten in the past, tasty as usual but fattening as well 😛

and if you pair with the ice cold beer. Everything just go perfect. 😀

I started off with Munich Dark and i just love this beer.

then i try the Muich Lager and i think i will keep to Munich Dark in future 😛 (Personnel Preferences)

Restaurant Location :

Town Restaurant @ Fullerton Hotel

Town Restaurant serves international buffet. The buffet cost about$69++ (before tax) per person but i will say their price is considered reasonable for their location.

On the other hand, personally i don’t feel the food quality  is up to standard.

The restaurant provide free flow of baked lobsters.  If you are a seafood lover, this will impress you.

As for the rest of the food, chilies and black pepper crab taste ok but they are not very meaty. The bread and bun look nice and fresh but they are tough.

For the Japanese food, the sushi and sashimi are not fresh. I didn’t get to taste the pizza as they run out fast and i don’t think they even bother replenish it.

The tandori fish was good but the sting ray totally  cannot make it. Hainanese chicken, i find them a bit plain.

For dim sum, i only manage to find siew mai and char siew bun and they taste good even though i am a bit disappointed with the limited number of dim sum provided.

Dessert overall is good but i am too full to try their ice kachang. 😥

WhatsApp : How to restore from backup again

In the past, when you have a new phone and when you activate WhatsApp, you will be asked if you want to restore from the backup. When you choose not to restore and later you regret and want to restore it, you can simply just uninstall the WhatsApp and start all over again.

Some new phone now however has a slight different behavior.

  1. When you first launch WhatsApp, you will be prompt to login then it will then ask you if you allow permission for the app to access device’s photos, contacts etc. and if you happen to select “No”. It will not prompt you to restore from backup.
  2. WhatsApp comes with the phone as a default application, you will not be able to UNINSTALL it!

So in such situation, how shall you restore from a backup again?

  1. Go to Settings and select “Applications”Screenshot_20160319-232350
  2. Then select “Application Manager” Screenshot_20160319-232359
  3. Under Application Manager, Select “WhatsApp”。  Screenshot_20160319-232444
  4. Select “MORE” on the top right cornerScreenshot_20160319-232503
  5. You shall then see Selection for “Clear Data” and “Clear Cache”. Click on both “Clear the Data/Cache” and it will put you back to the reset mode.  When you launch WhatsApp again, you will be prompt to login and set your permission again. Make sure this time you allow WhatsApp to access your device contacts, disk space etc.Screenshot_20160319-232509

The above method also works for old phone which mean you actually dont need to uninstall WhatsApp if you want to get it back to the original stage where it will prompt you to login and restore from backup again.
